Behind the curtain

Here’s a look at the gear I’m using for my web design and music work (not to mention a little surfing and gaming when the mood arises). Nothing fancy about the machine, just a plain old HP Pavillion with extra ram, two 19″ LCDs I bought for it at the time and an old 15″ CRT from my old computer I added later. I’ve been using UltraMon to manage the multiple displays and it’s pretty darn handy.

Below the Din (pretty much) done

What a couple of crazy weeks. Between a sudden eye problem and a market-wide power outage, things have been prtty interesting around here.

I think I have BtD just about where I want it. I have a few more things I’d like to do with Illinois-Weather, but I need to get back to recording soon. I have a nice four day span coming up to either get some tracks already arranged recorded and edit, or if my friend/bass player Brian can make the trek over, we can pull some new songs out of the ether and get them down. Either way, this should be a fun month on the music side of things.

Ch-ch-changes

I’m doing some moderate to major overhauling of this site, Below the Din, and Illinois Weather.

I’ve backed off the magazine layout for Below the Din. With my various commitments, I’ve opted for a little less polish so that I can add content more often. (Still has work to do)

Even more pressing were the changes required of Illinois Weather. Some of the functionality has been improved, and the color scheme is a little less in-your-face. (Still has work to do)

As for this site, I’ve expand it from just focusing on music (Coaltown Ghosts or otherwise) to encompassing all my online projects. (Work just about done)

CoaltownGhosts.com now live

The barebones Coaltown Ghosts site is now live. As the final few months progress, we’ll have more updates there. I hope to have a couple of preview clips–perhaps even entire songs–made available online in the next few months, prior to the full release.
